     In today's technological world, new media acts as a catalyst for everyday creativity. New technologies help pave the way for people to express their creativity through different outlets. For example, virtual worlds help combine community and creativity into a single platform. New media fosters creativity by creating and improving current means of communication and technology, and changes the way people see the world. Long ago, media used to be verbal stories and then was improved by written language and the invention of the word press. Nowadays, new media allows for ideas to be shared globally and without travel time. People are able to access other peoples ideas and create off their ideas. With translation, access and no delay time with sharing ideas, more ideas can be created. New technologies facilitates for new mediums such as virtual worlds. Virtual worlds allow for so much freedom and creativity to be curated. For example, people on Minecraft can built enormous worlds, whether they be based on real locations or purely imaginative. Another example would be music. In the music world today, artists are able to collab off each other's works regardless of distance. For example, in The New Math of Mashups by Sasha Frere-Jones, we are provided with an example of such work;

"After auditioning almost a thousand vocals, Brown found that an a-cappella of “Frontin’,”
a collaboration between the rapper Jay-Z and the producer Pharrell Williams, was
approximately in the same key as “Debra.”The two songs are not close in style—“Debra”
is a tongue-in-cheek take on seventies soul music, while “Frontin’”is hard and
shimmering computer music—but the vocalists are doing something similar. Brown
exploited this commonality, and used his software to put the two singers exactly in tune."

Another example of a new technology that fosters creativity is live streaming. Twitch TV allows for content creators to live stream their content, whether it be IRL(in real life) streaming or video games gameplay. Live streaming has gained massive popularity over the last few years and has created huge amounts of job opportunities for people.
